Visual Analysis of Phase Transitions and Polarisation Domains in Barium Titanate

We present our concepts for the visualization of phase transitions in barium titanate. The proposed system uses a combination of traditional and novel visualization techniques in order to aid scientists in the visual analysis of molecular numerical simulations. A set of 2D and 3D views conveys an overview of the whole dataset, using various rendering techniques. Our system can then be used to automatically find polarization domains, depending on user defined parameters. The resulting domains can be explored interactively. After selecting one or several polarization domains of interest, the user can observe how they evolve over their lifetime using various techniques, while statistics such as their size or their average titanium displacement are displayed.
